🔸 What is Nexwave?
An IBO that connects customer support professionals to major companies — all offering remote, legitimate customer service roles with hourly pay, available as independent contractors or W2 positions.
🔸 Do I need experience?
No prior customer service experience is needed to work with Nexwave, as training is provided. However, you should be a self-learner with strong communication and computer skills, and meet specific home office technical requirements. Key qualifications include at least 1 year of phone-based support experience, proficiency in navigating multiple systems, excellent verbal and written English skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work independently.
🔸All clients require a certification course that will train you to support their customers. Courses are typically between 4-8 weeks, depending on the Client Opportunity you’ve chosen. All clients allow for paid training as the course progresses.
🔸What to do next.... After you've passed the certification course, a Statement of Work (SOW) is issued. The SOW will also include required performance metrics, as well as other expectations for servicing customers. Now you are ready to make your own schedule! Shifts are available in 30-minute intervals. Agents must meet a 15 - 20 hours weekly minimum (varies by Client) and may include a short weekend commitment. We have an additional six-month work-study program to help develop experience and a customer service skill set.

2. Dual Monitor Requirement
Dual monitors are a requirement for most programs, and it's great that you pointed this out. Having two monitors helps increase productivity by allowing you to have your work tools (chat programs, CRM software, etc.) on one screen while keeping customer information or other necessary programs open on the other.
This setup makes it easier to multitask and respond to customer inquiries more efficiently without needing to constantly switch between tabs or windows.
Dual Monitor Setup:
Make sure you have the right cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA depending on your monitor and computer) and that your system can support dual monitors (most modern laptops and desktops can).
If you’re on a laptop, you may need an external monitor or USB-to-HDMI adapter to make this setup work.
Tips for Passing the Equipment Check:
Test your system before registering: Make sure your computer meets all minimum requirements before you begin the registration process.
Internet connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable and fast enough for remote work. A wired Ethernet connection is usually preferred over Wi-Fi for reliability, especially for customer service roles.
Headset: Test your headset (it should be USB or wired) and microphone for clarity and functionality before starting.
External Monitor: If you're using an external monitor, make sure it’s properly connected and recognized by your system, and that your display settings are adjusted accordingly.
1. Background Check:
NexWave typically requires all agents to undergo a criminal background check as part of the onboarding process. This is to ensure the safety and integrity of the clients and the services that you’ll be providing.
General Requirements for Background Checks:
Criminal History: A criminal background check will be performed to ensure there are no felony convictions in your history.
Most commonly, they look for any criminal history in the last 7–10 years.
Certain convictions (like fraud or violent crimes) may disqualify you, especially if you will be handling sensitive information or dealing with customer service in industries like finance or healthcare.
Minor offenses (like misdemeanors) may not automatically disqualify you, but it depends on the nature of the offense and how recent it was.
Social Security Verification: Arise will also verify your Social Security Number (SSN) to ensure your identity is legitimate.
What to Expect:
You’ll be asked to provide personal information for the background check, including your full name, date of birth, and Social Security number.
The background check is usually performed by a third-party vendor, and you may be asked to provide consent for the check.
2. Drug Screen:
NexWave does not typically require a drug screening as part of their independent contractor onboarding process. However, some of the companies that NexWave works with (the clients you're supporting) may have their own specific requirements for drug testing, especially if they have particular safety or security needs.
Drug Screening Considerations:
If a specific client you are supporting requires drug screening, you will be informed about this during the onboarding process. These are usually for roles that may involve handling sensitive equipment, work in healthcare, or support positions in industries like transportation.
Since NexWave allows you to work from home, the likelihood of a drug screen being required is generally low unless you are handling something that requires strict regulatory compliance (like healthcare or financial roles).

Specific Programs: Background check requirements can vary based on the client or program you choose to work with. Some clients may have stricter background check policies, especially in fields like finance, healthcare, or legal services.
What Happens if You Fail the Background Check?
If the background check reveals something concerning, you will usually be notified, and it may disqualify you from certain programs. However, you may still be eligible for other programs that have less stringent requirements.
